چکیده

AIM: To describe the subcutaneous pedicled propeller flap technique for microscopic reconstruction of eyelid defects and evaluate its outcomes. METHODS: The clinical data 23 patients (23 eyes) who underwent with were retrospectively analyzed. All tumor resection one-stage anterior- or posterior-layer defects. survival rate flap, function appearance, recurrence rate, patient satisfaction evaluated after surgery. RESULTS: consisted 12 men 11 women, aged 31–82y (mean, 58.9y). longest follow-up time was 5y, shortest 3mo. flaps survived well. There no significant difference in color luster between adjacent tissues, there dog ear phenomenon. No obvious scarring observed. abnormalities morphology function, adverse complications such as exposure keratitis, entropion, ectropion, ptosis, retraction. found at last follow-up. satisfied surgical results. CONCLUSION: has satisfactory outcomes terms esthetics, merits application.

Endoscopic pedicled nasoseptal flap reconstruction for pediatric skull base defects.

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS A prospective study of endoscopic expanded endonasal approaches (EEA) with nasoseptal flap reconstructions revealed anecdotal evidence of less available relative septal length in pediatric patients. Our goal is to use radioanatomic analysis of computed tomography (CT) scans to determine limitations of the nasoseptal flap in pediatric skull base reconstruction and to descri...

Upper eyelid rotation flap for reconstruction of medial canthal defects.

M edial canthal defects resulting from cancer resection after Mohs micrographic surgery present challenging reconstruction dilemmas. In fact, medial canthal reconstruction has been controversial because of the time-honored method of second-intention healing in wound management of this area. Yet, small flaps and grafts for repair of cutaneous medial canthal defects may result in a quicker healin...

Subcutaneous pedicle propeller flap: An old technique revisited and modified!

BACKGROUND Post-burn axillary and elbow scar contracture is a challenging problem to the reconstructive surgeon owing to the wide range of abduction and extension that should be achieved, respectively, while treating either of the joint. The aim of this paper is to highlight the use of subcutaneous pedicle propeller flap for the management of post-burn axillary and elbow contractures. METHODO...

Pedicled Facial Buccinator (FAB) flap: a new flap for reconstruction of skull base defects.

BACKGROUND The expansion of endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery has resulted in an increased demand for reconstructive options. Reconstruction with vascularized tissue has proven indispensable for reliably separating the cranial contents from the paranasal sinuses following extended endoscopic endonasal approaches (EEA). The introduction of the Hadad-Bassagasteguy flap (vascular pedicle nas...
